In 2013, I produced the groundbreaking documentary Whipped, which exposes the secretive system of party discipline that transforms Canadian politicians into “trained seals.” During the documentary, past and present elected officials talk for the first time about the backroom forces that caused them to vote against their conscience and their constituents. Since it was broadcast on CPAC, I’ve continued reporting on the lack of transparency and accountability in Canada’s public institutions as a journalism professor at Mount Royal University. You can find my most recent coverage here.
